Danna Lewis

Danna has served as the Director of the Business Placement Center since the spring of 2015. Danna  earned her Bachelors from SIU in May 2006 and is currently working on her Doctor of Education here at Southern Illinois University. Danna enjoys assisting students with their career plans and working with companies to recruit Salukis!

Originally from Centralia, Illinois, Danna and her husband have made their home in Carbondale, Illinois. In her free time, Danna enjoys baking, playing with her dog Mack and cheering on the Salukis. When you have a free moment, please stop by the Business Placement Center and say hello.


Assia Baker

Internship/Externship Coordinator - Graduate Assistant

Assia is joining us in Career Services from Chicago, Illinois, to oversee experiential learning including student internships and externships. She will be available to all students for career counseling throughout the semester. Assia received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from here at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She is currently working towards a Masters in College Student Personnel from SIU.

When not at school or at work, Assia enjoys doing yoga as a way of self-reflection and staying connected with one’s self.

Alex came to SIU from Pearl City, Illinois, to study Business Marketing and Hospitality Management. She started working in Career Services in January of 2014. She is continuously active throughout campus as an Excellence Scholar, Historian of Business Leadership Council, a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, and a member of Delta Epsilon Iota Honors Society. In the future, Alex would like to be an Event Planner but for now in her free time she likes to play volleyball and spend time with friends and family.

Jake grew up in Decatur, Illinois, and came to SIU in order to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Financial Investments. When he is out of class and off of work he enjoys hiking, longboarding, and watching/discussing movies with his friends.  He is also the President for Accounting Society and encourages every accounting student to become a member.

Jasmine joins the team from the windy city and is focused on student career planning and communication. You will catch Jasmine in Rehn Hall working with students and planning the Business Placement Center events as well as around campus as she pursues her master’s degree in Higher Education- College Student Personnel.  When she is not working with students on developing their career plans or planning events for Career Services within the College of Business she enjoys spending time with her daughter Zakaria.

Cheyenne is from House Springs, Missouri, and came to SIU to study Accounting.  She enjoys volunteering or participating in events that gets her involved with SIU.  When she is not in class or at work she likes to go on adventures or watch movies with her friends.


Noppadol “Champ” Tuksakulvith

Noppadol Tuksakulvith, or Champ, is a familiar face in the College of Business. A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Champ received his Bachelor’s degree in Management – Supply Chain Management at SIU. Champ is a first year graduate student in the Quality Engineering & Management program. Champ utilizes his analytical skills and passion with MS Excel to collect, prepare, and analyze the Business Placement Center’s data throughout the year. He also oversees and improves the Business Placement Center’s website.

Outside of classes and work, you can find Champ spends his free time biking, hiking, or watching baseball. Champ is also a founding member and past president of APICS SIU Student Chapter; he is currently serving as a board member. After graduation, Champ wants to work in the manufacturing sector, especially in the glass or concrete industry.
